A less messy way for me using a wheel mouse:
Drag document / folder with the mouse wheel to desktop, release, click “link here”.
reate various vector textures using the Scribble effect, Scatter Brush, Graphic Styles palette and Appearance palette.

If you’d rather not use the built-in PDF Viewer, you can use another PDF viewer like Adobe Reader, Nitro PDF Reader or Sumatra PDF.
To switch from the built-in PDF viewer to another PDF viewer:
- At the top of the Firefox window, click on the button and then select
- Select the panel.
- Find Portable Document Format (PDF) in the list and click on it to select it.
- Click on the drop-down arrow in the Action column for the above entry and select the PDF viewer you wish to use.
Note: If you want to view PDF files in Firefox using a plugin, instead of in an external PDF reader application, select Use PDF reader name (in Firefox). - Click to close the Options window

If you drag selected text to the Finder the system will create a “Text Clipping” document that will hold the text along with its current formatting.
